High-fidelity prototyping & short-run manufacturing from 1-10,000 pieces.
Design Formations offers a variety of 3D printing services. This includes SLA (Stereolithography) which creates beautiful printed models at incredibly high detail. We also provide Polyjet Fusion printing which offers high detail (equivalent to SLA) with a faster printing speed and unmatched multi-material capabilities. Design Formations also has the ability to use Fused Desposition Modeling. FDM is great for really large prints or 3d prints that focus on structural integrity.
Have an Idea? Let design Formations bring it to reality. We are trusted by fortune 500 companies and inventors alike. Design formation work hard and fast in order to get you a works like, looks like sample or prototype. We offer Design, CAD, 3D scanning and electronic Sculpting Services. Design Formation is proficient at acrylic bending/shaping/fabrication, thermoforming, masking and painting, electronic engineering, woodworking, and metal/plastic welding. Whatever your project needs are, we can make them happen.
We custom create silicone rubber molds and cast highly detailed parts. Great solution if you want multiple products for testing, have products with complicated undercuts, need parts sooner than injection molding lead times allow, or require samples that imitate production. The tooling is low cost and we have the ability to turn parts out really fast. We can cast products in almost every durometer, color, flexibility, heat deflection, and other varying properties. We specialize in all sorts of castings including rigid plastics, soft rubber, foam, clear products, food/medical grade, overmolds, faux metal, and silicone parts.
Super soaker contest us with ideas fer a new super socker. We worked together to create something thot had never been done before for people everywhere to enjoy.
High-fidelity prototyping & short-run manufacturing from 0-10,000 pieces.
Trusted By public and private medical companies to produce medical grade parts and prototypes suitable for applications where biocompatibility testing is required.
Highly precise and reliable cast parts have proven successful in both military training/testing and in the field.
From in-store and trade show displays to producing a prototypes from ideas to short run manufacturing, we do it all. We print and finish 3d parts to resemble production.
Design formations in known for helping achieve artistic goals. We specialize in clear acrylics and casting clear production pieces, but we are also skilled forming foam and rubber, painting to pantone, thermoforming, and anything else

Traditional prototyping involves designing, developing, building and fabricating a model of your product idea. Our designers and developers use everything from pencil and paper or a CAD design software in order to turn your idea into something physical. This can either be a “works like” model, a “Looks like” model, or both a works like/looks like model.

Injection molding is production molding that requires making a tool or mold out of metal and injecting hot plastic into the metal mold cavity in order to get a production piece. The advantages of injection molding is that the price per piece will be significantly lower. The disadvantages of injection molding are:

Please provide us with everything you have regarding the Project (we will be happy to sign/issue an NDA).
Drawings/ concept briefs/ dimensions are necessary. Having CAD files (.stl, .step, .xt) will help us get you an accurate and quick quote. Please also let us know what materials you envision the project being made out of and any other specifications.
We will have a general conversation about what you want to achieve with the project to determine the Scope. Do you need design work? Engineering? Sculpting?...Do you need a looks like model, a works like model, both? If you want silicone molds and cast parts, what are the quantities? What is the timeline we need to achieve?
If the project quote and lead time is approved, we will take it to the next step. Design Formations can provide you with concept art if needed (about 1 week).
After the concept art is approved, we will work on 3D CAD files and/or engineering.
Once the 3D files get approved, we will work on breadboarding and making a works like sample for you to approve. This will represent how your project will work like in production.
After the works like sample is approved, we will provide you with a 3d printed looks like model finished and painted to your specifications. This will represent how your project will look in production!
After the looks like sample is approved, we will proceed in making a silicone mold where we will cast (or manufacture) a looks like/works like sample. We refer to this as a Release to Production or RTP.
